Boris Johnson has previously mentioned the security industry in his agenda but since the news have portrayed these roles to be ‘low skilled’. It still baffles me that the security sector is seen as an inferior industry to be a part of.
To put it bluntly security is NOT ‘low skilled’. All our security personnel have undergone numerous hours of training; first aid, conflict management, counter terrorism, crowd management and physical intervention to name a few.
Devastating statistics from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show male security guards are the hardest hit by the killer virus with 63 deaths and rising as of early May 2020.
Our team carries out important tasks including; residential security teams that ensure personal homes and owners are safe, Detection Dog Handlers that indicate and confirm the presence of an illegal or illicit substance including narcotics or explosives, social distancing measures with crowd control.
More so than ever, H&A are encouraging our workforce to engage in further training whether that be through online courses or further deployment training to ensure the new risks are identified and minimised. Additionally, we advise strongly to our staff to get a Covid 19 test and if you need any assistance get in touch and we will book one for you. Our staff are not just a statistic and never will be ‘low skilled’ by any means.
