Outside of Downing Street, Manchester, and London we have witnessed mass protests and rioting involving damage to monuments and even casualties. You would be forgiven if you thought you were watching another “Purge” movie instead of the news. The current feelings are of anger and injustice which are fully logical. However, we have also seen peaceful, social-distanced protests. We are all scared to leave our homes due to the unseen enemy let alone what could be happening on our street.
One of the biggest concerns for many is the lack of social distancing that is occurring again. We must not forget that we are still in a pandemic and the right precautions must be adhered to for everybody’s benefit. We have all seen the social distancing measures in place for retail outlets but even these are slowly declining. We offer Covid-19 Response measures including our frontline security staff, thermal temperature checks for ingress, queue and crowd management with safety barriers if required as well as our ‘Best Practice’ advice to store managers. We are there to support you and your current staff so you can get back to doing what you do best.
Current statistics from Public Health England show: a total of 286,194 lab-confirmed cases across the UK. Since the outbreak began, there has been a total of 40,542 deaths associated with COVID-19 in the UK. In the North West today (Monday, June 8, 2020), there is a total of 26,209 confirmed cases – an increase of 76. This will surely rise if we do not contain and actively promote social distancing measures such as queuing 2 metres apart and the use of hand sanitiser and thermal temperature checks.
The virus doesn’t discriminate in who it affects. Make sure you are doing everything you can do to prevent the spread and we might get back to ‘normality’ sooner rather than later.
